I called in late October 2012 to cancel my father's Verizon account because he is on a fixed income and we were able to get him a free phone with free minutes. I specifically asked their representative if there was any balance due, or when the account was paid up until. The Verizon representative told me the account was paid until Nov 7 2012, and that there would be no further bills after that. We have since received a bill for about $53 that they say was generated for the period through the 7th. I have tried to call them and work with them. I was told by one of the supervisors that they don't need to honor what the representatives tell the customers. They are calling me several times a day trying to collect this money from a 76 year old man. I just want the bill removed from his account.
