CheckFree is the entity used by my bank (Amegy) to process on-line bill payments. My Nov and Dec payments to Americredit/GMAC were processed early causing my bank account to be debited for a $35 NSF fee both times. CheckFree sends my payment to Americredit via paper check and US Mail. I talked to my bank and was told they would not reverse the fees because it wasn't a bank error. Even though I specified the date the payment was to be made, the checks were sent early and processed before the actual date on the check. This was not my error but I, the customer, have to pay the fee because CheckFree (employed by Amegy) did not follow my instructions and sent the payment before I had the money available.
