We were contacted by Mark Carnegie, Account Exec, October 2012. He was looking for agents willing to do BPO's for his company. If the property in question was foreclosed upon by the bank, we would receive the listing assignment. They also offered a guarantee that if in a 6 month span we did not receive an REO listing they would refund our initial investment of $349. We were asked to do a BPO that same day for a property in our service area. Communication via email and phone were made during the time we worked on the BPO. We received a confirmation email that the BPO was received and that they would be reviewing it the next day and would let us know if they had any questions.
A few weeks later we emailed Mark to find out when we could expect payment for the BPO. We heard nothing from him over the course of the month with calls and emails receiving no response. We have found that the contact numbers & emails are no longer active accounts.
We have contacted our credit card company to be certain we do not get charged any additional fees and hopefully will be able to have the charges reversed.
If it seems too good to be true...it probably is!!
