I requested an envelope through the company website to send them my gold in exchange for a cheque. They provided me with a prepaid envelope in which to enclose my jewelery, which included a tracking number and a letter telling me to use the tracking number to track the parcel from departure to arrival. The letter also insisted that my items were insured and that my satisfaction was 100% guaranteed. I filled it with my jewelery and brought it to my local post office where it was scanned and shipped.

The next morning, I visited the Canada Post website to track my parcel (as they stated in their letter), to discover that the tracking number was invalid and therefore not in their system. I attempted to call the company, but the phone number led to an automated message saying that all of their call agents were busy... that I was to fill out their online form and a customer service agent would contact me. Upon filling out the form, I was led to a dead link. I re-attempted it about 6 times, and each time I was led to the same dead link, "This page cannot be displayed." Suspicious, I did some research on the Internet and discovered the company to be fraudulent and dishonest, plagued with complaints of the same nature as me and beyond. I called Canada Post to tell them that I was likely a victim of fraud, and after attempting to locate my parcel (which was, remember, supposed to be insured), they were unable to find it due to the invalid tracking number. They proceeded to open a high-priority investigation with regards to the issue.

From there, I contacted the Anti-Fraud Centre of Canada with my case. I emailed the company through you, the Better Business Bureau, and they told me to keep trying the tracking number. They said sometimes, the parcel only gets scanned upon arrival at the destination. Not only was this information false, since my parcel was scanned at the post office when I dropped it off, it defeated the purpose of a tracking number, and contradicted their letter, which guaranteed that the parcel was insured and could be tracked from departure to arrival. I re-emailed them, demanding that they return my sealed envelope when they receive it, and to not bother sending a cheque for the gold. I do not wish to do business with them, because after sifting through the online complaints, I deem them to be a scam. I want my rings back and I want them audited.

Here are a few links to websites where you will find the heaps of complaints. As you will see, this has been going on for years, and no legal action has been taken yet. Something has to be done.

  • I want my jewelery sent back to me immediately, or I want $400 from this man. I had my jewelery appraised prior and I know what it is worth.
