Date Occurred: 08/13/2012 Reported Damages: $298.67 Location: From India - I was first contacted by this

group who claimed to be Windows support on 13 Aug '12 to say my computer was deeply infected with

many viruses which is why is is operating so slowly. I allowed them access and they showed me all sorts of

stuff I didn't understand, but took their word for it and, after much discussion, and urgent persuasion from

this person, who had to repeat every word, or spell it, because of his very heavy Indian accent, bought their

protection. My Pres Choise credit card refused the charge, {should have been a red flag to me} but this

person was so insistent I might have another card that would accept the charge {made it sound so urgent}
I tried my Visa and they accepted the charge. The next day I contacted Visa after I had spoken to my

"computer Guy", who checked to see what protection had been downloaded to my computer; NOTHING!
That is very easy to check I found out!!!
Visa told me they could do nothing about the charge except let it go through, and I could dispute it later.

This, I thought was a rather inefficient way of doing business, but then maybe they have good reasons, who

knows?
Two days later I was contacted by Global Connect Cloud with the same urgent message that I was to "get in

front of my computer right away 'cause the satelite has signalled" them that my computer was in great

distress, and could crash at any moment, Well, fool me once "shame on you, but fool me twice, shame on

me!!! I told me they were a fraud, as I had checked them on line at “scam”. He changed his tune and denied being

Global Connect Cloud and that Global WAS a scam who was trying to impersonate them, and they were a

totally different company out of Ontario. I told him I recognized his voice, I would phone the police and had already phoned Visa

about the charge, also what my teck guy has said. He got nasty and ridiculed me.
I demanded a refund, since they had stressed that if I was not totally satisfied they would refund me. He

denied ever saying that. I can assure you that when he was trying very hard to persuade me to buy this

protection, he had definitely told me, total satisfaction or instant refund. We has discussed this very much!
He was still trying to get me in

front of my computer to show me all the trouble going on . I asked how I could be having so much trouble

if I had just paid $300 to have my computer protected! He hung up.
The following week I was phoned again, same voice, heavy Indian accent, telling me he was the teck who

had worked on my computer, and they got a signal from the satellite I was in severe trouble and going to

crash in a few hours, so he had to access my computer asap to fix it. This time I nearly lost it and asked him

how he could be so dense as to phone me again, after he has already scammed me once!!!

I was contacted again just last week to say that I was having problems with trojans in my computer and they could offer

me lifetime protection for some ridiculous sum. Since I already had a two year protection this seemed a little strange to me! Once again he wanted to showed me a bunch of stuff and

made it sound really dangerous. I told him I would phone the police if I was contacted again! He laughed.
I hung up.
I can assure you nothing was "worked on" on my computer! The initial phone call was just at dinner time,

and I was really busy, and he had phoned me back four times {4X } during the initial contact after I didn't

want to speak with him, making this sound so urgent. Oh, he was really good.

This is part of the conversation i had with him on my computer after he asked me to open my notepad so he could type to me cause i was getting realy fed up. I just wish I has the whole thing on my notepad!!!

So the bottom line is: I am filing with Visa to have my money refunded
AND just last evening someone phoned me "from my bank" at 8:45 to ask me if I wanted to open a new account!! You guessed it! I hung Up!!!
