We just returned from three weeks in the Philippines. We were using my wife's sister's Modem to connect our laptop to our Verizon FIOS e-mail account. I had a startling message from Verizon: We were supposedly sending illegal spam messages! And Verizon completely blocked our e-mail account. I could not reach anyone from Verizon who could help us. WE could not make hotel reservations or confirm reservations, make flght reservations or check flights, connect family, friends or my work, or our banks in the US. I tried using hotel servers to connect to my e-mail account. Completely blocked. I tried several Internet Cafe's. My e-mail account was still completely blocked. I tried everything I could think of, and no one at Verizon seemed to care that we were essentially stranded in Asia with no simple way to contact anyone through our e-mail account. It was a very frustrating experience, that cost us money and significant time. At no time did anyone from Verizon attempt to contact us or to offer any help. Thank you.
