I entered into a contract with Verizon to obtain FIOS. A representative visited my residence in May 2012 and arranged for me to get the Fios hook-up in June 2012. Per our agreement, the first bill from Verizon would be approximately $250.00 which included installation fees. When I told the representative that the first bill was expensive, he indicated that you are getting a $250.00 gift card which actually covers the first month. However, when I got my first bill it was $447.35. I inquired about this bill and was told that included in this bill was a charge for old modem that needed to be returned. I returned it but the representative says they have no record of the charge or the return. Additionally, I pointed out to them that they charged me for a partial month, a period which I had no service. Finally I was told that my second bill would be $124.00 a month. My second bill was $180.00 a month. Verizon indicated that these were installation and activation fees, which I told Verizon before installation that I would not pay because I was told that they were included in the $250.00. They agreed to wave these fees before installation but they are now trying to collect. My agreement with Verizon was a 250.00 bill the first month and a $124.00 a month afterwards. They have significantly ballooned my bill on both months. Perhaps its to recover the $250.00 gift card for signing up, which I have yet to receive. I have attempted to resolve this matter with Verizon, waiting on the phone 20-30 minutes to speak to a representative only to have someone hang up on me when I ask to speak to someone who can help me. Please provide assistance on this matter. Thank you
