We received a notice from an Insurance Co. unfamilar to us, telling us that our monthly rate on our wireless phone insurance was increasing by $1.00.
We had no such insurance, to our knowledge, and had no need for insurance on our very inexpensive phone.
However, with the Insurance Co. guidance, we found it buried on page 3 of our Verizon Account.
Verizon , after some discussion, refunded $35. but "could" refund no more.
We spoke to various supervisors at different levels.
It became apparent that they added it on their own and assumed it would go unnoticed.
They eventually refunded the total amount.
However, they continue to do this as several friends have check after our experience and found the "mystery" insurance has been added to their accounts.
The State of North Carolina Attorney Genera's office probably needs to be informed, but I thought your program might get to more consumers, more quickly.
