Global Connect Cloud called me at approximately 8:40 pm. They said they were from Microsoft. I was told my computer would crash immediately because I had no software protection, only hardware. After many convincing fear tactics I was instructed to type in some information. The woman, difficult to understand due to heavy Indian accent,, then remotely brought up several alleged problems on my computer. There was a contract and she was filling it in, checking boxes I did not agree with, and getting angry when I pointed out discrepancies such as their ties to Microsoft, and that they claim to be powered by Norton, though they had verbally trashed them.
My computer was totally disabled by this person.. The next day I went to the Microsoft store, where I purchased the computer and have a protection plan. So much had been disabled, all drivers, etc. I almost lost a three week old high end computer because of this scam.
I believe this company is posting positive reports on this site. Why would a satisfied customer come to a site that reports scams?
Global Connect Cloud's contract seems suspect. It actually states if we "inadvertently" charge you twice we will refund the overcharge. All disputes are under Indian courts. Good luck with that.
