15 yr old student who is daughter of neighbor collecting for school and "Book Sets" would go to charity.
No - I figured out about 10 minutes after I wrote the check I was scammed. Con artist was probably in early twenties. Dressed on looked younger. Very, very polished presentation and supporting materials. Canceled check but I think the damage was done. I suspect WWC will try to contact me further. I will have to get new bank account bank now and maybe new phone number.
Who am I upset with? Honestly the local legitimate groups who go door to door. Would never have done this had I not been exposed to this by the local lagit groups.
