I went to the hairdressers expecting my hair to be done properly and to get a professional opinion on what colour to go. I went with bright copper hair and wanted to get this rectified and go a more dark blonde colour. I chose a colour to go which was medium ash brown. He told me, if I wanted to go blonde I had to get highlights and he suggested I was to do this next time. I did not see the point in returning and spending more money so I had it done there and then. After he washed out the dye, my hair was in such bad condition. My hair was then towel dried very roughly and my scalp was very sensitive from the dye. The hairdresser then violently combed my hair in order to get the knots out. He then started to trim my hair without my permission, I only wanted to go for a colour. He then blow dried it using his fingers and pulling my hair as he did this. He then turned the blow drier off with my hair still being partially damp. He began spraying loads of product in my hair (he did not ask if I wanted this) and began sectioning and straightening my hair. I did not want my hair to be straightened but it's part of the package so I thought why not. During straightening, my hair started to sizzle (the same noise when you put bacon in a frying pan) and steam was let off my hair. My hair was dry, frazzled, and he continued straightening. After he finished straightening it, my hair was in such bad condition. He showed me the back and the colour was a mixture of even brighter copper highlights (caused by the bleach) and brown. It looked like straw, it was nothing like blonde. It was not the colour I had expected, it was in terrible condition and I was very shocked, anxious and I felt like crying. He then asked me if my hair was Ok (isn't he supposed to be the professional?). I told him it wasn't Ok and that the dead ends needed chopping off. He then started cutting my hair and took at least 3 inches off and chopped my layers incredibly short. Before the whole process I told him I didn't really want my hair cutting, but he suggested a trim, so I said yes why not. I did not expect my hair to be this discoloured, in such bad condition, and to be so butchered. I am so upset about my hair. I paid £43 for this, when all he did was make my hair worse than it originally was. I told him at the end of it all that 'I don't like it' and so he said to me 'what don't you like about it' so I told him the length, the colour, the condition, the way it feels. After knowing how I felt about it he then told me 'If you're going blonde, you're going to have to prosper with it all'. My hair looked like straw and everyone in the salon was giving me dirty looks because I told him I did not like it. I rushed over to the window seat, grabbed my purse and paid and went to the service desk and asked how much it was. The woman said £43 so I put it on the desk and walked quickly out the shop. I was feeling my hair walking down the road, it felt awful, I caught a glimpse of it in a car window and it looked awful and butchered. I put my hood up and rushed home crying. I had been saving up for weeks to get a nice hair colour, and I ended up with a hair disaster. The day after, today, I went to ASDA and bought a medium ash blonde hairdye to cover up the copper highlights and an intensive hair masque to get my hair back into suitable condition. As of now, it still feels awful, dry, still has bits of copper in it. I would go to a salon and get the ends cut off, but it's already almost above my shoulders, I can't spare any more hair to be cut off, I am already devastated as it is. I want my money back. The hairdressers haven't helped me at all, they made my hair worse. I am so upset. I feel I have been charged too much considering the results. The ends of my hair right now are still frazzled and people have told me my hair looks 'wirey' and 'frizzy'. I believe I am entitled to a refund but I heard if I go back now, I won't be able to get it. The only thing I can do is make a complaint and tell people to stay away from that horrible hairdressers. It's going to take months, maybe even years to get my hair back in suitable condition and the right length that I want it. Words cannot describe how angry I am about this whole thing.
