I submitted a report to Microsoft about a minor problem I was having. These people called me, told me they were Microsoft and had me do some entry on my laptop and boom, they hacked me. Then they started asking me for $299, $199 or $99 to "fix" and clean up my computer. I refused to pay them anything, then they said "special price for you" $40.00. I refused to give them my financial information, but they completely hacked my computer, it is a loss now. I am going to have to purchase another laptop. I talked to one guy who claimed to be Alex, although he barely knew English and he directed me to a website: www.globalconnectcloud.com, that has nothing to do with Microsoft. I hope someone can arrest these people. I hung up on them and Alex called me back and asked me "what happened" and I told him I was reporting him to the authorities and he hung up on me. When I logged into my laptop this morning, it is a mess, white screen and all. I am writing Microsoft about this issue ahd hopefully the real Microsoft can stop and prosecute them.
