Bought a new dell pc a month ago & have had some probs. these guys called me saying they were somehow related to windows or microsoft, that they're aware of tons of viruses, malware et al on my pc, files infected, motherboard corrupted etc. they knew my name, number, and the license id for my pc. I gave them remote access to my pc, they then took me through a bunch of phony problems (showing me error logs etc), told me i needed to update my windows 7 to "sp 3", etc etc, then gave me the hard sell for their services. The 'gold level' of protection cost $299. It was a total crock. DO NOT LET THEM ACCESS YOUR PC REMOTELY!!! I now have to wipe my hard drive, return the pc & get a new one, and i've frozen my credit, changed all my logins & passwords, and got our bank on fraud watch, just to be sure that they don't go after our accounts or identities. What a nightmare!!!
