I am writing this complaint for my 76 yr. old father. I was with my father on March 26, 2012 when he signed a 90 day contract for $ 195.00 with International Home Rentals (previously called Global Rentals), out of dire need to find assistance in finding a new place to live by May 1, 2012.

My father a retired Air Force Veteran, and has been battling multiple hospitals stays and infections due to diabetic complications. This is particularly disturbing for that reason alone. No elder should be taken advantage of in this manner. Or anyone else for that matter!

Please be advised that this company lures people in need by offering to find rentals for a 90 day period for a cost of $ 195.00. The problem with that is they collect your money, give you 3 to 5 appealing location addresses on the spot and ask you to drive by these properties and call them if any pique your interest, so that a tour of the inside of the home is schedule with the current tenants.

When we called to setup a time to see the inside of the property we liked, which was the same day we signed the contract, they said they would get back to us, that they had to contact the present tenants. After 5 days, the management company calls us to tell us that the home we were interested in is no longer available, but yet, was still showing on the internet as available through International Home Rentals (8129 Dacosta Ave Downey CA 90240).

We later come to find out that that particular home was never for rent. International Home Rentals lists properties that do not belong to them to reel people in. Most of these properties are not even for rent, they are occupied by their owners. They do nothing in aiding in the finding process within the 90 day period.

On 4/11/12, I spoke with the manager, Jennifer Cruz. I expressed discontent with their services and let her know that I felt my father was taken advantage of. I asked her to give me specific instructions on getting him his refund, as they said he was entitled to. She said that we would have to fax them back all the listings they sent us after the 90 days and that she would leave "their accountant" the information on his desk to review, but that a refund would not be guaranteed, if the listings they faxed us weren't sent along with a Lease Agreement from our new place along with a utility bill.

Problem is, they never sent us the 2 a week listings they had said they were. They only sent us two listings in a 3 week period, and ONLY after we called inquiring about them. The listings sent to us were nothing we were looking for or in the area we discussed.

I brought up the Yelp reviews to Jennifer Cruz, she denied having 6 negative reviews. She asked that I email her that information. This is the email she gave me [email protected].

We have also dealt with Flor and Selena at this agency, Jennifer Cruz is the manager.

This company is truly unethical in their practice. I do not trust them with having all the information provided to them by my father which was a prerequisite; a bank statement, his credit card information. A company like this cannot be trusted with sensitive information, nor should they be operating a business out of any office. I hear of scams like this abroad, but to know that they conduct business out of an El Monte location is alarming to me. I have reported them to the Workers Compensation Bureau, as I'm sure they do not have proper insurance for all the trained scam artists that work there.

I have already reported them to the IRS, The California Real Estate Department, Attorney General, The City of El Monte, FBI and The Los Angeles District Attorney. I am very serious about seeking justice for my father and the hundreds of people affected. My next set plan is hitting the Twitter feed, Facebook and every one of my public forums. I'm very fortunate to have such a public forum due to my business and contacts, but many of the people affected are elders and have limited access to computers along with being affected by a language barrier.

I told the Manager, Jennifer Cruz, that I will make it my personal mission to make sure this place is shutdown-- permanently! Previously, when it was called Global Rentals it got such horrible reviews that they opted to get a minor facelift by changing their name to International Home Rentals. Unfortunately, these idiots are still practicing in the same fraudulent manner and at the same location. The licensee name through the Real Estate Department for Global Rentals was Brennon Martin Felix License ID: PRA02046. It is now under a different name Jason Jose Rodriguez License ID: PRA02057; however, the operation is exactly the same. I beat these two are associates and go golfing with everyone's hard earned cash. Not even a change of name can make these clowns legit.

I have done all my homework with regards to this company, and believe me when I say that I will seek the highest form of revenge.

To all those that have been victimized by these scammers.. this one is for you!!

Negative reviews for International Home Rentals/Global Rentals, same location, different name.
