As a portrait studio owner, I order many of my cameras from New York. I "Googled" the kind of equipment I was looking forward to purchasing and found the Digital Hunter. Their prices were remarkable and I called to order. I talked to John, a very nice and knowledgeable salesman and before I could blink, he assured me that I needed an upgrade to the camera that I was buying. I asked him all of the pertinent questions about flash sync-ing and such and he assured me that it was just perfect and he would also throw in a couple of things such as a flash and a quick charger for just a little bit more. He also assured me that if I didn't like it, I could return with no questions asked. Unfortunately, unbeknowst to me, the additional charge was nearly $600. I hung up and began to worry ...so I called back and talked to Steven, who asked why I would even worry about anything ...that what I was getting was perfect...oh, and you can return it if you have any problems.
I received the equipment and it was black market garbage...it wouldn't work with my studio lights as promised by BOTH John and Steven ...it was worthless to me. I called and explained the problem and David gave me an RMA # to return the merchandise. I told him that I still wanted the original camera kit that I wanted in the first place and he said that he could get it but it would take between 8-10 days. We agreed that this would be fine and that I would keep the 75-300mm lens that was included in the kit that I was yet to get rather than mail it back with the other items. All was fine...except that i never received the other order and after nearly 6 weeks, I received an email telling me that the order was cancelled. I received no refund for the merchandise that I returned and when I have talked to them they have called me an imbecile (yes, I'll own up to that having been stupid enough to trust these people) and that they could just say that they never received the returned goods (except that I have a Fedex notice that it was not only received but signed for, and the they are saying that I only returned the camera body and NOT all of the other items, which is an out and out lie. I have documented every phone call, email, every item and the serial numbers of the items received and returned. I have been put on hold, I have been told that I have to call back the next day, been called names (can you believe that??), and pretty much been told that I am screwed...that they are only going to refund the money for the camera body and not the other items. I would run..not walk ..to the nearest exit ...THIS COMPANY IS A SHAM AND THEY ARE USING YOUR MONEY FOR MONTHS FOR THEIR HIGH INTEREST LOAN OPERATION AND PUTTING OFF REPAYING WHAT THEY OWE FOR RETURNED MERCHANDISE AS LONG AS THEY CAN. I am filing a complaint not only with the BBB, but with the Attorney General of my state and their state. This place needs to be shut down...after they refund my money...lol
