Monetary damage is £ (do not know exchange curreny rate) I signed up to some survey sites, as I want to work from home, as I am limited in what work I can do, and want to do what I can, to contribute to my income. I searched for home survey sites and Pointshop was one I signed up to. I usually steer clear of any offers such as theirs, as I believe 'anything to good to be true, usually is' However my mobile had broken, and I needed a new toothbrush, so I ordered these items using my debit card, and payment was taken immediately from my account. I then realised that it must be a con and tried to unsubscribe from the site and it wouldnt let me. I just got confusing emails, and couldnot access my account with them, until yesterday, when it allowed me access and I was able to unsubscribe. Their terms and conditions are incomprehensible. On 22/6/2012 I did a balance check on my bank count, it was £90 less then I was expecting, as my benefit had been paid in. So after banking hours I checked my online account to see whether the benefit paid was less than normal, and that is when I discovered the 2 x £45 debits. They had used the bank account information they had from me, when ordering the 2 items I have not yet received. Consumer law protects debit and credit card payments, over £100, so the bank is not under complusion to refund the money, so the amount they take is very significant, as they obviously know of this consumer law. My bank is working with me, to ensure they cant take any more money. This company seems to have many satisfied customers with their points system, and maybe that part of it is true, but the sinister edge of taking £90 off people, when there terms and conditions are substantially unclear, and the stop made on being unable to unsubscribe until they have taken your money is illegal and immoral. The law also allows 28 days for the goods to be received, so that part is not illegal until 28 days from the order. (8th June). That £90 represents one third of my income, I may not get this back, but please try to help others, from being in my situation.
