I applied for a personal loan with this company in the amount of $5000. I was told once I paid the above amount to their insurance company, I would receive my loan within 24 hours. I still have not received my loan, and I cant get anyone at the company on the phone. Abby Winters in the loan department just hangs up the phone on me when I call. No one answers the phone in customer service.

  • Deborah, I also fell victim to them. I contacted green dot money pack and they were very helpful. I still had the cards I used and they pulled them up and transferred me to their fraud depart. they too all the information and said it would be investigated. She said she did not know if I would get my money back but suggested I notify the BBB and the St. Louis Police Dept. She was also going to give info to the Federal Trade Commision. I think if more of us report this we might see some action.

  • Did you ever get your loan from them? My husband is trying to get a loan, been approved and told to send 650 through green dot. I keep telling him not to but he says he sees nothing wrong with the company. I know we need the money desperately and worked hard to get the insurance money they need but don't want to be throwing it away for nothing. Please let me know soon. Thanks so much.

  • Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that American Commercial Finance IS a scam. I went to google and looked up the phone number they gave 877-598-4470. It had many people who have sent money to this company for a loan and they were told to send more money and NEVER received a dime in return. There were several there who paid over $1000 to the company. The reason they have you use Green Dot for sending them the funds is because it is not insured, so you are unable to stop the payment or get your money refunded back due to fraud. Luckily I found this out in time because my husband was all ready to send the 650 they requested. I know times are hard and we needed the funds desperately, but at least we didn't lose the 650. Now we just have to come up with tons of money to payback the payday loans we used to get the 650. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrr. Hope this helps. Good luck to all.

  • Thanks everyone for the feedback, but I never got the loan!!! Don't give them any money. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the state attorney general's office. I will also contact Moneypak.

  • I contacted green dot as well. I also filed a complaint with americangreed.com and 20/20 Brian Ross investigates, and I sent an email to the FBI St. Louis office.
