Experian

I was paying my credit card bill online when I noticed a pending charge from Experian Credit Report for $1.00. I have never given this company my credit card number or asked for a credit report. I called my credit card company and they said that there was nothing that they could do until the charge went through and was no longer "pending". After that, they said I could file a dispute. The next day, when I looked at my credit card account online, the pending charge from Experian was gone. I still called my credit card company again and had them close my account. I googled Experian credit report and apparently they have a "deal" where you get a $1 credit report and then seven days later they charge you a monthly fee of $17.95 from that point on. After reading everyone elses stories on here, I strongly believe that if I kept my credit card account open, that I would have been charged $17.95 monthly, even though the $1 charged mysteriously vanished. This is a huge scam. Someone is stealing credit card numbers and opening bogus Experian accounts online. If what other people are saying is true and Experian does not require a valid billing address, CVN number or expiration date for online transactions, then Experian is allowing fraud due to their poor online ordering process.
