I contacted Experian on November 8, 2012 for a FREE credit report. Even though the law states that a person is entitled to ONE FREE report per year, I figured the charge of $ 16.99 was a one time fee for their "paperwork". Then, on December 10, 2012 I was again charged, this time for $ 19.99. I did not sign up for a continuous report, I just wanted my once-annual free report. I wrote down the phone number that one person offered (1-877-481-6826). I also received an email from Experian that stated that my "monthly credit statement is now available". This email also lists a phone number. It is different: 1-888-294-9477. I will try to call both of these numbers on Wednesday, but I will also call my bank to request the cancellation of this automatic charge. I hope that one of these things works.
