I neglected to balance my checking account for the past year and when I did do so, I discovered that I have been being charged $97.00 plus $1.89 in conversion fees, since July 28, 2011. The charges were once a month for July and August 2011; from September 2011 through April 2012, they charged the amount to the account TWICE a month. Immediately upon discovering this, I contacted my back to see if they could provide me with assistance. Apparently they have been able to obtain nothing other than the information printed on the statement each time a charge was made:

Although I do sometimes make online purchases, I do not use this account for online purchases. This is a joint account with my 94-year-old Dad and is used exclusively for his expenses. Neither I nor my father recognize this company, nor the amounts charged regularly. I keep detailed records of my purchases and have carefully reviewed my files. I can find nothing to indicate any kind of agreement between myself and Synaptic Marketing P/L Kilken. My father does not make online purchases himself; he would certainly not have authorized these charges.

I am currently filing an Affidavit of Unauthorized ATM/Debit Card Transactions with my bank, in an attempt to recover a portion of my losses. Sadly, they advise me that the most they will be able to recover will be charges made to the account in the past 60 days. I am hopeful they will be able to help with that, at least; I realize I am remiss in not watching the account more closely till now and I accept responsibility for that.

I repeat, I have no knowledge of Synaptic Marketing P/L Kilken Au. I have gone online in an attempt to get information on the company. The only thing I have been able to find is a large number of scam reports; many other people have also been charged by this company. I do not know how they obtained the information on my credit/debit card.
