This roommate rental "service" offers "free listings" but when you register and read about the details of their service, you discover that nothing is free. If someone sends you an email (only readable through roomster site) you have to pay to see it. I paid the $5.95 for 3 days so I could read my "emails". It turns out they came from 1 person who would not respond specifically to any of my return "emails". I believe now that this person was a shill from roomster itself to get me to submit my credit card information. The fine print also states that they will bill you by default for $29.95 for another month if you don't cancel the service in those few days. I didn't read that. Who does? When I complained about the billing they sent me this:

"When you upgraded to a subscription You were required to check off on the terms of use TWICE in order to create an account with us. The subscription policy is also stated on all these pages:
1. Terms of use [see screenshot]
2. Credit card authorization page [see screenshot]
3. The subscription tab on account page
4. FAQ page

We state on your billing history page when your subscription is being renewed, so that you can end your subscription before a new billing cycle begins.

We also sent you a message right here in this helpdesk and an email notification to (Personal Info Removed), right after you paid on "3/4/2012 9:03:49 PM" telling you to cancel, and how: "Your subscription can be canceled at any time. There is a link to manage your subscription right on this page."

I received absolutely nothing from roomster.com, got billed for nothing, complained about it and got nothing in response except this. You can call their 800 number and the guy on the machine says specifically that you can't leave a voice message, or talk to anyone for that matter. You have to email and this is the pat response they give.
