They called me from 253-382-9076 and asked to complete a political survey which would take 30 sec and if I agreed to answer it I would win a free 2 day Caribbean Cruise to Grand Bahama Island. I did take the survey in an automated system and then was directed to an agent. I was told to pull the website www.my2012vacation.com while I spoke to the agent (they even provided the agent #). The website looked like a Caribbean Cruise website. While describing the details of the cruise on the S.S. Bahama which would leave from Palm Beach Florida, the agent told me there would be a $59 fee per person as "port tax" and requested my credit card number. I said I was not comfortable doing that and I wanted a number I could call them back; she said I should have an email in my inbox, which I did, with the title "Corporate Endorsed Certified Letter of Guarantee." As if it would guarantee anything - anyone can fake an email. I continued to object and the lady put the "General Manager" on the line. I again asked for a phone number I could call to confirm and he said that if I did not want to pay the "port tax" we were pretty much done, and I said we were done then. I believe this was a definite scam and the website is a fraud as well. Whois.com does shoe both my2012vacation.com and caribbeancl.com as registered to the same company w/ an address in Florida, but that is no guarantee. The political survey was simply a hook to introduce the "free cruise" trick.
