I have cable, internet, and phone service through Mediacom. I am constantly having problems with their service. I have to call for repair service at least once a week. When they fix one problem another one arises. My phone calls, which by the way are made from a landline phone, are dropped. Internet speed is at a snails pace even though I pay for upgraded service. Cable TV picalates or goes out and wereceive a message that states "searching for signal, no signal, etc. Each time I call in to complain I am told they will send out a repairman. I schedule th repairman to come out but it is always two to three days later. This past week they had to come out twice. Each time they come out I am told there is some new problem and that they fixed it. However, they leave and the problem is not fixed. To make matters worse they all tell me something different. When I cmplained a week ago about the extremely slow speed of the internet I was told to run a speed check but a supervisor at their local office. The speed was about 7. I was told by this individual that the speed should be at least 20. She also said that Mediacom is having problems with this in the area and would have a repairman come out to check things. He came out and "fixed" the problem. He also told me that the speed should be at least 20 for download and 1 - 2 for upload. A day late the internet speed was fine but then the cable would pixalate and the phone would drop calls. As usual I called and complained and a repairman came out he fixed the phone. He told me it looked like the wires connecting to the house were bad and needed to be replaced. He said he was requesting that another repairman come out to fix this. A day later the internet speed drops and the phone cuts out, cable starts searching for a signal. I called and complained they sent out a repairman. He checked things out says the wires are fine and he checks out the internet speed. Depending on how they run the check it is rae anwhere from 5 to 17. He tells me it will vary (but even I know that there should not be that big of a difference.) Then he tells me that when the speed is at 17 it is higher than what I am suppose to have because it should only be about 15. He calls someone at mediacom and they say the speed should be 15. So you see they tell different stories, it just depends on who is doing the talking. Each one points a finger at the other saying they gave you the wrong information. Not good company policy. Not good customer service either. If you are looking for quality cable, internet, or phone service do not go through Mediacom. They do not live up to their promise of quality service. I must also say they have credited my account each time i complained but I had to ask for the credit.
