Northern Leasing Systems/Meridian Payment Systems

I tried to start up a new business and signed a contract with Meridian Payment systems in Bakersfielf Calif. The contract was for a machine that would allow me to accept credit cards, debit cards, checks, etc. Other than my downpayment on 01-24-08 the company in New York (Northern Leasing Systems, Inc) started taking money from my checking account a whole month early. Plus they took out more than what was agreed. I assumed it was a scam at that point and stopped payment on anyother withdrawals from that company. Then another company (Commerciant, L.P.) started taking money from my checking acct. The next thing I new my checking Acct was overdrawn and I got hit with Overdraft Fees that made things worse. I panicked and took out some Payday Loans that got sucked up by the bank and I was even further in the hole than ever. I mailed their machine back in 2008 after they put a freeze/de-activated it. I never used the machine.
NOW, four years later, I recieved a letter stating that the Company in New York is suing me for more than $5000 Which is what the Contract stated.
It took me a long time to get over the mess that they created in my life. I don't have the money to hire an Attorney to fight for me and I don't know what to do. I am 100% disabled and getting deeper into depession everyday. Is there anyone out there that can help me Pro Bono to fight this case ?
