I was hired on 2/4/12 @ A&J Automotives(Joe Phillips is the owner & boss. I worked a total of 68 hours at least. He told me Saturday the 11th, he'll pay me Monday the 13th, as well as help me get a cheaper motel close to work after work that monday. Well, when I woke up Monday my knee cap fell out of socket due to the straineous work that week,he told me on the phone to get to a hospital and that he'll pay for it, so I needed gas and parking money so I went by my job to pick up my tools and pay, he claimed he was broke yet he was bragging he makes 10,000. a week and just won a 1.4 million lawsuit(yet couldn't pay me my $400.+ weekly pay.Needless to say I spent the night in my car with a dislocated knee and broke. I filed for emergency food stamps and they needed to contact my boss to verify I was working there, he told them I only worked there (3) days,which is a lie, Idocumented all my hours.He does bad business, I had done an oil change and he didn't have a oil filter so told me to put the old one back on, as well we did a brake job he wanted to charge the customer for turning his rotors when he don't have a machine to do so. I found out he has outstanding warrants for his arrests I believe for traffic tickets. There was another guy workingf there whom claimed Joe hasn't paid him either, and before he got paid Joe fired him so he ain't got to pay him. I'm a graduate of A.T.I. and Joe told my career counselor he'll pay me $7.25 an hour but when I went for an interview he said $275. a week, then middle of the week he said it'll be less. I talked to TWC and they said it's by law I get minimum wage, so I filed unclaimed wages. I was adviced to report him to you as well as IRS.
