I am struggling with my mortgage and was contacted by a Nathan (can't remember his last name) from Consumers Advocates Group. (His secretary name is Candace Luke) to get a aloan modification for our mortgage. They sent us a client welcome package with a whole bunch of documents that we signed with service agreement and what they would do for us, etc.. (all of which I have copies of) and we sent in all or paystubs, mortgage info, banks stubs, and copies of all our bills, etc to them. We agreed to pay them 2,000 after Nathan promised us that he could get our payment lowered to half what we were paying. He gave me a website to visit which seemed legit because we were apprehensive. The website looked good. It is http://consumer-advocates-grouup.com/CAG_history.html After this, we came on board and he asked us to write two checks one for 1000 and dated for sometime that month and anotehr to follow the month after to total 2000.00 He stated that as soon as they received our first payment and loan package that they would be contacting our lender for negotiation. I was unable to reach him on his cell number that he gave me as it was not valid, but as soon as I called the number on the application or packet I completed, I got no response from anyone utnil I stated that if it was about the money and the check I was going to write to them. He called me back and apologized and said their phone lines were down. He assured me that things were okay. I told him I could not afford the 2000.00 up front and that I would need to write three checks to total 2000.00 and have them come out on the days that worked for me. He had me write the checks out to Consumer Advocates Group and scan and fax to him at CAG office. The number I faxed to was 866-214-0350. He confirmed he received and they would notify lender. This all happened or started on 11-14-11 as we signed contract this day. (Their client package they sent us) We waited and waited to hear an update. I finally called them in December and all they wanted was more documents such as back statements, etc to send them stating that the lender needed this. From that day on, they have not returned any of my phone calls. I haev received some e-mails(which I kept) that only stated things such as file in review, etc.. No real update on the case. I requested in writing that I wanted the name of an individual who is handling our file or a manager. I never got a response back form CAG. Only that the woman who is working on my file form CAG is named Jenna Leigh. (She has e-maield me couple times to state she is working on file) come to find out form Bank of America (My lender) that they only heard from someone from Consumers Advocates Grouup one time and they only recieved the one document that we signed to authorize CAG to act as a third party for laon modifcation. They did not receive any correspondence since, although CAG inidcate to us through e-mails that they forwarded the documents we sent to Bank of America. (Bank of America has not received). I have called and called this company to leave mesages to no avail. The number which they use and that is on all our paperwork and on the web site is 866-214-0750. You will not be able to reach anyone at this number and if you leave a message, you will not get a return call. funny thing is they don't ahve a recording either that states thank you for calling CAG, please leave your name and one of us or someone will be contacting you. If Jenna and Candace Luke realy work here and it is legit how come no extensions or option to leave a message for any of them is available. I ahve gone two months calling and calling and e-mailing processing dept and everyone I can think of to no avail. They started to not answer my calls after they received payment in full. I was not behind in my mortgage unitl they came to us. I told them in order for us to be able to afford to pay them, that I would have to miss two months of my mortgage payment to afford it. They indicated that this would be okay.. BOA would work with us..Thats their job to make sure. We are so scared... I fell behind we are scrambling now to save our home. I have two young children who love our home. We love our home but will not be able to afford the high payments if loan mod is not granted and CAG has put us in a rutt.. Pleas someone help us...
