Downloaded an app so I could watch a television program on my computer. The next day, I opened a travel site, and was presented with a short survey, offering me a "free gift" if I completed it. Just had to pay shipping. I thought it was related to the travel site I frequently use. I realized something was wrong when I went to a second site, and was offered the same survey. I removed the spyware and the internet TV software, and kept an eye on my credit card statement. Thought all was well when Juveneu only charged the promised nominal shipping charge. What I didn't know was they started charging my credit card under a DIFFERENT NAME: liftandglo. You aren't going to believe this, but my wife had just happened to order a bra online recently, and when I saw that first charge, I thought it was that order, and didn't react. Yesterday, Jan. 12, I received a second jar of Juveneu, and raced to the computer to check my balance online, only to find a second charge for $80+ US$ by Liftandglo. Called my credit card company, and they were very familiar with this. For some reason, I must have agreed to their terms when I accepted their friggin free gift, and I had 14 days to cancel my monthly subscription. A monthly subscription I had no idea I had joined. (Lesson learned: read the terms of agreement) I called the number and was told I couldn't return the product, and they were only willing to offer me a $34 refund. I cancelled my account. (Make sure you get the confirmation #)
Basically, my credit card company can't do anything unless they charge me again. I'm willing to bet they won't. They are already ahead $174 for their sh*tty, unproven product.
