i was trying to deal with Bank of america to negotiate a new mortgage after becoming unemployed and reentering the work foce at a much reduced wage making it impossible to pay my current mortgage, when i went on line to what i thought was a government run web site for help with the 'making homes affordable' plan from the obama admin. i contacted NMP it all seemed on the up and up spoke to an initial person that told me what they do which was supposed to be act on my behalf as a negotiator to get me the best deal possible. i was then a few days later contacted by another person who took all my personal and loan information and explained to me that i had to pay 2200.00 dollars for their services up front with a gaurentee of satisfaction or my money back. the first person i spoke with told me that looking at my situation that the program i qualified for would reduce my mortgage roughly 500 to 600 dollars a month, and would forgive any outstanding late payments. i went ahead and payed for their services i then recieved a large packet of information via fedex from NMP that i was instucted to read over thoroughly and use to negotiate a deal with BOA. i called and spoke to my so called negotiator Jane smith and all she had to say was it would be better if i negotiated the best deal i could before she got involved in the process. so i did just that today via fedex i recieved the loan modification proposal from BOA which is of course a slap in the face after all the lies and crap they've been feeding me for the last four months. i call , email , and fax all this information to Jane smith at NMP only to find the phone has been disconnected the email is undeliverable and im left 2200.00 dollars further in the hole with a bank thats ready to forclose on my house in less than a month if i dont accept the deal they sent which is a whopping savings of 200.00 dollars a month, or come up with almost 6000.00 dollars to bring my mortgage current. So nmp has vanished with my 2200.00 dollars and did absolutly nothing to help me modify my mortgage and i have no way or means to try to recoup my money on their false gaurentee
