I was emailed by a woman who called herself Keran Millar. She told me that she was selling a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L and that it was in perfect condition, no scratches or damage. She said she was selling the car for $3,500 CAD. Then she went on saying she works for the army and was transferred to APO AE 09459, United Kingdom so she wants to sell it. The car was being stored in a warehouse near CFB Cold Lake, AB and she said she had to pay a daily fee for storing the car so that's why she priced it so low in order to get rid of it. She said she would handle the shipping of the car to me so I didn't need to pay for the shipping. She then went on to say the transaction would be done through "Google Checkout" for our own protection. The money would be "100% insured" until I receive the car and inspect it, and she was sure she was going to receive the payment. I had ten days to inspect the car and decide if I wanted to keep it or not. Then she asked if I was interested to email her my name and shipping address. After I read the email and thought it was legit I emailed her back all my information and the "transaction" began. She sent me all this Google Checkout information, instructions and guidelines (which at the time looked so real I didn't bother to do research except to see if Google Checkout really exists). I followed all the instructions and read all the guidelines and my bank wired the United Kingdom account the money. After she said she had received the confirmation that the money was in the third party account, she would start the shipping process. Then after a week of me not hearing anything from her she emails me back saying how the insurance company that's with the people that are shipping the car won't ship the car until she buys their insurance. In case anything happens to the car on the road while it's supposedly on its way to me. That was the last email I received from her which was on December 14 2011. I began to do more in depth research because I wasn't hearing back from her and it lead me to realizing it was a scam and i'm not the only one. I have printed out all the emails we sent to each other in case I need proof one day. But it can't go back in time and undo what I did. I wish I had done all this in depth research before I wired her the money.
