Guy from Craigslist with email address [email protected] had the same story a lot of the other Net Assistant Trader scams seem to give: "Out of town for his Daughter's wedding and so left his trailer with NAT as the middle man." After contact with them and many emails back and forth with "Frank Berhans" we were asked to wire money to a Barclay Bank in London. That should have been our clue to run. However, we blindly wired the funds and then after confirmation came, no trailer was ever delivered. We filed a Police report, an International Crime Complaint, a Federal Trade Commission Complaint, and I am in the process of getting Seattle Police Departmetn involved (since that is the address listed on NAT's website. However, that could be a dummy address. If all of us can get together and figure out if the same Account number was used int he wires - it has to belong to someone. I am looking into that avenue. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you on this sight. The website for Net Assistant Trader has closed. It was only open for a month and scammed probably in the whereabouts of over 25 people - if 18 reported on here as being scammed.
I'm thinking they made over $100,000 before shutting their site down.
I filed my complaint with many organizations as well as even had a news interview on our local NBC affiliate about the scam. I even sent an email to Barclays Bank in London, but have bneer heard anything back from them. I think we will never see our lost money, but hope that we will.
