I received an email for a part-time position, they were looking for a Personal Assistant, the email described the job and I was actively looking for a 2nd part-time job, preferably in the morning so, I decided to check their website:
https://oliviaclarkarts.webnode.com/job-offer/
it seemed okay, so I accepted the interview, (which despite me living only 7miles away from their location was by phone only) and i ended up sending my personal info by email, SPECIFICALLY what they asked for was:
*Full Names:
*Mailing Address :
*City, State, Zip Code
*Cell Phone #:
*Age
*Email:
Then I did the (phone)interview and the woman on the phone, claiming to be a Olivia Clark told me she would let me know who got the job, then I received a few texts at 3:30pm saying I would begin and my "first 30day trial session" and she would send me email instructions by the end of the day about my first assignment. I instead received a text after well after 5pm asking me about my apartment number(i intentionally don't put that on my resumes to prevent bots from harvesting that info online). I was driving home from my part-time job at the time and 10min later, when I got home, I responded with a text with the apartment number. I received a text saying:
[ "Stop calling me please I gave the job to someone else who f"]
then another one kinda out of sync:
["IVIA CLARK"]
and another:
["ollows detail instructions because the application clearly states t"]
then another:
[o include your apartment number if there is any but you didn't OL]
I responded that I do that to avoid spam mail. (I throw a hand full of stacks of envelopes and upgrade letters, and away every week)
but apparently my job either started the moment i got the first text, or something. I had received 4 texts saying:
1) ["Next time you apply for a job make sure you pit your correct addres"]
2)["ddress to verify it an you take forever to answer calls or even re"]
3)["ply to text messages you are fires best of luck OLIVIA CLARK"]
4)["s and be able to answer call so since i can't get your accurate a"]
The weird disconnect between what I was saying and the responses was unsettling like some script. I only ever received 1 call from her, (my phone log also shows only 3 calls ever made one incoming and 2 outgoing) which the day before, saying that she wanted to do a phone interview and she left a voicemail message at 5:49pm, which I responded to at 6:03pm which went to a voicemail but had to leave a message myself. The next afternoon when I called again at 2:21pm, she responded and did the "interview", and there were no calls besides this. Even if i can accept that this is a result of a bad text message system. It still meant I was "fires" 2hrs and 23min after I received the text message that I was selected for the job, immediately after I gave the last of my address.
