When surfing the net on my MAC I got a Pop Up which stopped my computer from working. The pop up said that my machine had been infected with a virus and that I had to phone the number for help, the actual advert propertied to be from Apple, when I phoned the number the lady on the phone told me that she worked for Apple and that by gaining access to my machine she would be able to clear up any infections. Let her have access and when in the computer she told me that the machine was full of bad things and for $199 she would be able to help me.I REPEATLY asked her did she work for Apple and she told me that she did and she would now pass me on to a senior tech who would help me further.
Within a couple of seconds Was connected to another person who then told me that for a total price of $349 He would have my machine up and running and no more bad things in the computer. I repeatedly asked this gentleman did he work for Apple and after he had taken my payment admitted that he did not but his company were approved by Apple.During the so called cleanup he noticed that on the computer there was a AVG anti virus software told me that was useless and un installed it.
So to cut the whole thing short they hijack your computer, lie and tell you that they are from Apple and then charge you a fortune for services that are free.
At this moment in time am hoping to get the money paid out back from VISA
