I was applying for an account with Square and had a question about their online application so I did a Google search for a Square customer service number. A page came up with the name "Square" and a logo and a phone number. When a woman answered "Merchant Services" I asked if this was Square merchant services and she confirmed that it was. I asked if I could apply by phone since I had some questions about the online application. I had researched Square and knew their terms so I didn't think twice about signing something. Oh boy. They immediately passed me off to EVO and I have spent many hours on the phone and emailing trying to get this straightened out. I think EVO has cancelled my yr contract with no penalities. But the initial scam originated with Millennium Bank, which must have some kind of spyware which then caused a bogus webpage and phone number to pop up. I can't find that page any longer when I try to do a search. These people need prosecuted. Pure deception.
