I was returning from vacation and had to take a much later flight out of Dallas-Fort Worth. I needed to call the person who was picking me up in Ontario, California since I was supposed to be there at 8:15 pm and did not arrive until 11:15 pm. The phones that would have used cash were out of order!!
I only had a credit card to use so used WMACTL....there was no mention of the amount that I would be charged, and I presumed it would be the cost of a regular call with possibly a small extra charge. I spoke for less than three minutes, the charge was $21.60 that's an incredible $7.20 per minute! WTF. DO NOT EVER USE THESE PHONES AT AN AIRPORT.
