Father-in-law stopped at this shop and was looking at Binoculars. They invited him in. Showed him some, and then took $180 of him for them.

Then proceeded to start to try to show him a 'better' model at $400, and allow him to upgrade them to that.

I was outside at the time, and didnt realise he was actually giving them money. I had previously read about camera scams like this on tripadvisor.

Once I saw him had over money, and another person swap to talk to him, I realised what was happening.

I went into the shop to tell him to not give them any more money as this was a scam.

They would not give back any money, as a sign on the wall said 'no refunds'.

The shop owner got very upset with me to telling my Father-In-Law it was a scam, and said quietly to me 'You sir, are a dick, please leave my store', in a threatening way.

At this point there were about 5 of them, and so I left.

After 10 minutes, my Father-in-law left.

When he got home, he found that they had swapped the binoculars for a fake branded name from Asia, 'Stein Optiks' which was probably worth only $20

Please take this as a warning, do not go into this shop or buy anything from here. And to be honest, you should not buy any electrical equipment from any stores in Benidorm, as its highly likely a scam, and they take advantage of people who are easily led.
