I confirmed that the 11 hotel room reservations/rates they made for me were legit. They asked for payment for all rooms/all nights up front. I asked for proof that they paid so I could have my company pay. They could not provide it. They told me they were going to cancel my reservations if they didn't receive payment by 5 pm that day (one week before conference). I emailed them a copy of the check and FedExed it to the address they provided. They sent me an email two days later telling me they never received payment so they cancelled my reservations. I have proof from FedEx that the package was delivered and who signed for it. They tell me no one by that name works for them. Suddenly, that is my problem. I have to stop payment on the check and they aren't even willing to try and work with me to resolve this. Basically told me too bad, we are going to send you to collections for the 25% cancellation penalty when I didn't even want to cancel the reservations!!!! Talk about adding insult to injury!!!
