On 11/25/2014, at SeaTac Airport payphones.

I made 4 LOCAL calls all under 3 minutes each.

The reason I made so many calls was because te sign listed the price in huge and bright letters "50 cents per minute" with any other surcharge warnings for credit card or collect calls in fine print, with out any clear price listings of these surcharges.

Made 3 LOCAL calls using a credit card and was charged $17.54 each. There was no indication on the payphone signs nor during the call that I would be charged this much compared to the "50 cents per minute" advertising.

Even if an average consumer were to see the fine print warning, it is hard to imagine the rate would jump 3508% from the listed "50 cents per minute"

Then my card was stopped and I couldn't make calls anymore. I assume it was because I made 3 one minute calls consecutively and with the same pricing and that might have triggered the security halt on my card.

So I made another LOCAL call using collect. This time, without clear price indication during the call menu nor any warnings for ridiculous surcharges, I was charged $26.91 for a local collected call that lasted under 2 minutes.

SeaTac and WiMacTel are pretty much scamming people with unclear and misleading price listings on their Payphone signs and lack of warning on the big surcharges.
