Jon and I leased studio space together for 6 months. Separate studios, under the same space. Both our names were on the lease. At the end of his contracted 6 months, he decided not to re-sign. Within 2 weeks after he left, I learned that his rent check bounced, along with his checks to his share of the utilities. I had to pay the bounced utility checks, along with their late fees, and bounced check fees, and I'm on the hook for his rent.

He claimed he sent me the money in the mail, but it never showed up. After two months of me staying on him about getting me paid back, he said he finally had the money (remember, he had supposedly already sent it a month prior). When I told him he couldn't send it, he'd have to pay me in cash, he went silent. A week later he claimed he was broke, but was waiting on money from another gig. 2 weeks later... nothing.

I also feel the need to mention one other thing. After he was in this studio space for 2 months, I had an $1800 microphone stolen. The only 2 people in the space that night were Jon and a client of his. I have NO proof Jon took it, and am NOT making that claim. But... 3 character witnesses of his client told me they could't imagine that guy doing something like that. I could find no character witnesses of Jon's. And ironically, a week or two prior to that happening, he was telling me and my wife how broke he was...

This guy is bad news. He's someone who truly doesn't care what he does to people. Funny, I've worked in Nashville as a producer/musician for 25 years, and never come across anyone like this. Stay away from him.
