I saw 4 Tomorrowland tickets on eBay which I and my 3 friends wanted to buy. I contacted the seller and asked them how much they wanted so I didn't have to bid. They said $2000, I think they were using another person's name (Lynn Whyte who lives in the USA) I have her details of bank account where the money was supposed to be paid after going into the supposed eBay bank account representative who is from the UK. Lynn whyte is a real person who lives in Pennsylvania, just as ‘whytest’ supposedly her, is on eBay. After agreeing with the price, the seller contacted eBay to verify me as the buyer. The listing was taken down and I was notified as the buyer. I received an email from ([email protected]) which gave me the bank details in which to pay the seller the $2000, which at the time was around £1192.46. I then went to my local bank and paid via a bank transfer to the seller. I was then asked to verify the purchase by faxing a copy of the receipt to +44 7043061800. The payment was verified and eBay recognises this transaction, however they say they will not cover it due to me not using paypal, yet on the payment email I received it said ‘Payment must be submitted via bank-to-bank wire transfer to eBay Representative Bank Account. eBay will secure the payment until the Buyer receives, inspects and accepts the package. Or, if it is the case, eBay will refund the payment to the Buyer. The beneficiary of the wire transfer must be the transaction officer listed above.’ The tickets needed to be personalised and I gave the seller information such as Name, age, address and an email for all 4 persons. The seller said they would personalise the tickets on the 19th February 2014, yet have failed to do so, the deadline for personalisation is 16th March, yet the seller has been avoiding my emails for 11 days as of 2nd March. I am concerned as an email to say they had done this would’ve raised less suspicion, this is not the case and they are not replying whatsoever.
