My complaint is the same as others. I was told that the person was a MicroSoft technician and that my computer was showing constant error messages on the MicroSoft main server. I asked how they could verify that they were from MicroSoft and he gave me a secure number that matched my computer so I fell for the scam.
I called to ask to terminate my account and get a refund and the woman hung up. My daughter called today and as soon as she said my name, the man said it was terminated yesterday.

So far, nothing has been charged to my Master Card but I will be closing that account. I have changed all my passwords. today I took my laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy. They have to delete everything. The tech said that the scammers place a Trojan in the computer so even if you delete their info, they can still hack in to your computer and that's when they call you to tell you your computer is about to crash and they ask for more money. They start to delete programs if you don't pay.

They totally misrepresent themselves as MicroSoft technicians and are VERY convincing. If they have gotten control of your pc, get that stuff out!!

There should be some way to stop this - maybe MicroSoft could issue a warning to anyone purchasing a new Pc or MicroSoft product...
