I applied for a $80,000 loan through a website called capitalcashlend.com and then I was contacted a few days later by a company called City Loan Services that told me my loan was approved and that I was to speak with a man named Bradley Stewart. He told me I had an excellent credit score and that I could choose from three options of collateral,co-signer or liability insurance. I chose the liability insurance since it covered 4 months of payments that might be potentially missed. Bradley Stewart told me that all I needed to do was to make two payments of $995(one for taxes and one for the portion of the liability insurance).These payments were made through MoneyGram. One went to Shelly Colley in Markham,ON and the other one to Yasmina Mohamed in Orillia,ON. I called Bradley Stewart back and told him the reference numbers of both transactions and he told me that the funds would be deposited in my chequing account within an hour. I checked at 12:35pm(I made the moneygram at 11:35am) and it wasn't there. He told me there was a backlog of 4 or 5 loan payments in the system. Said it would be ready for 1:15pm. At 1:15pm still nothing said by 2:00pm it would be there. 2:00pm still nothing, promised time was now 2:20pm. At 2:20pm nothing was there and Bradley told me to call his supervisor Mike. I talked to Mike and he told me that my file said I was high risk and that my insurance premium was going to be increased. I had to make another 2 payments of $995.00 and I told him I didn't have that much money with me. So, they said they would reduce it to one payment of $995.00 but I refused to pay it saying I know they are scam artists. They told me they are legitimate and wouldn't be hosting my call if they weren't(also said their phone lines would have been cut already). I told them I want a refund but they told me it would take 3 to 5 business days to process and then 5 to 6 weeks for headquarters to send it to my bank account. I have been trying to contact them since but no one is responding to my phone calls. The phone number is 1-888-839-8234. Bradley Stewart is extension 807 and Mike is extension 808. I lost in total $1051.00 CAD on both transactions because there was an extra $56.00 surcharge on both transactions.
