I went online to get support to find my license for AVG which I had lost. They intercepted my call and led me to believe they were with AVG and would help me find my license. I had just purchased new pc that morning. They logged on remotely and told me I had numerous problems with my pc but they could fix them. After about 20 minutes talking with them I realized I had made a mistake letting them into my pc. I said I wasn't interested and would take it to person I bought it from. The computer tech who sold me pc worked for hours to remove over 600 viruses and malware programs they had installed while I was online with them. He said had he not just sold me the pc, would have thought it was an old pc running for years without virus scanner. I am unsure my total bill with him. I contacted AVG and they assured me they were not associated with this company. They offered to refund my money for my new year subscription to AVG as I had to have virus scanner installed by PC tech to avoid future problems. I am angry and embarrassed that I was so gullible.
