Dell Computer performed by telephone a" repair service" on my Dell Computer. The problem was explained to Dell in as much detail as possible which was rather difficult to say the least because Dell Computer support services are located in Manila in the Philippine Islands and technicians although speaking English are difficult to understand and it is most difficult for myself to understand them.
When I explained my problem to the Dell technician he told me that they were due to a virus. I told the technician that I had an Antivirus program installed on my computer but he explained to me that," Ordinary Antivirus programs do not completely eliminate viruses." He went on to explain to me that for $199 he could remove the virus and that for that cost( I think) it would include a total three computers being protected against problems for three years. In addition for $99 more he could install a very effective antivirus program that would also include Protection for another two computers for three years. I paid $299 to Dell by credit card.
The problems were not solved and when I called Dell Computer To complain they explained to me on several different occasions that they were certain that they( Dell) could solve the problem. After spending in excess of 15 hours on the telephone with Dell Technical Support I can assure you that Dell Cannot Solve the problem by telephone.I have asked Dell For a refund but they explain," That since the problems have been solved NO REFUND CAN BE ISSUED!
The problems are such that after Dell technicians go through their Remote Process of checking the computer software/hardware whatever, the problems do not surface for a couple of hours or until the next day. Just as they did before I ever contacted Dell.
I am a physically challenged 74-year-old man and I find it impossible to manually turn my computer off and then back on to let it work properly for an hour or so before the problem surfaces again. Dell refuses to acknowledge this!
