Extremely outrageous quote for veneers, check! Horrible customer service, check! Snobby front desk girls, check check check check. I was referred to Dr. Kevin Sands by a fellow actor, they told me that he gives discounts to inspiring actors etc. I did some research online and the reviews seemed pretty good, well pretty good on the first page of Google. I now know that I should’ve been less lazy and went to page 2 of Google. I guess the marketing company that he hired has done a decent job of covering up the bad reviews online. I did a simple google search and found out his marketing companies name is Avital Marketing, looks like this company works with a bunch of shady doctors that have horrible reputations online. It’s sad that companies like these would even exists, here is a tip for shady doctors, stop being shady.

Now in reference to my negative experience with Dr. Kevin Sands:

I came in for my consultation about 2 weeks ago, the front desk required a credit card just in case I was a no show. I didn’t think much of it at the time of scheduling, my mistake. My appointment was scheduled for 11, I was running a bit late, only about 20 minutes. I called the front desk to let them know I was stuck in traffic. The front desk girl notified me that they would need to reschedule me because Dr. Sands only allocates 10 minutes per consultation. The fact that I’m going to be 20 minutes late will throw off their entire schedule. If I was running a business I would go above and beyond to satisfy my customers. But guess customer service isn’t important at Dr. Kevin Sands office. Anyways I politely asked If they could fit me in later today, I don’t mind waiting. The front desk girl told me no and said that the doctor’s next opening is in two weeks. At this point I was pretty angry about the horrible customer service and the fact I just wasted half of my morning driving to Sands.

After about 5 minutes of trying to negotiate a fair comprise I decided to just give up. I said just forget it and cancel my appointment, I don’t want to see Dr. Sands any longer. She notified me if I didn’t reschedule they were going to charge me $150 fee since I’m missing my appointment. So angry I started to laugh, this had to be some crazy outrageous joke. Well to my demise it definitely wasn’t a joke! After hanging up on her I decided to check my bank account, sure enjoy there was a charge for $150. Immediately I called them back and demanded they refund me or else I’d be contacting the CDA and writing a negative review. Front desk girl called me a loser and hung up.

I did some research after this whole situation and man I wish I would’ve dug deeper from the start. Looks like Dr Sands quotes people extremely high and does low quality work. Lesson for everyone, dig deeper, don’t believe what you see on page 1 of Google.

So since I’m a man of my word I’ve reported Dr Kevin Sands to the CDA and now I’m writing a bad review. Until I get a refund of $150 I will continue to write negative reviews… Let this be a lesson to shady dentists who think they are above working class citizens.

  • Lin, you are very lucky to only be out $150. Sands charged me $45,000 and did not even work on me except to excessively sand down my teeth to almost nonexistent. He let technicians and an unlicensed dentist do the work. I now have to pay to have two teeth pulled, sixt root canals, and surgery on another tooth. My midline is shifted way to the left. In addition the veneers are unsymmetrical crooked and bulky. Worst dentist, biggest scam artist. I also reported him to CDA and the California Dental Board. I am in so much pain, cannot eat or drink anything out of the refrigerator, and cannot eat trail mix, wafer crackers, an apple or gourmet bread. He lied to me telling me he would personally work on me which is what I expected for $45,000. Please contact me for pictures and to discuss. [email protected] reason I went to see him is because I have at best five years to live and prior to that devastating news my youngest son who faithfully served in Iraq died. I am also a brain surgery survivor. I did this for a lift me up.Always had a beautiful smile, only A few slight imperfectiwons. I'm devastated and embarrassed to smile and in pain. It even hurts to brush my teeth. Also my bike is way off because he sanded the back teeth smaller than the front so I have black spaces and my bottom front teeth hit underneath the top front teeth when I bite down. That is the heaviest point of contact and as a result that tooth has to be removed. If you are not a celebrity, you mean nothing to him, except to take your money and charge you way more and in full versus discounts he gives celebrities. This is the last straw that broke my spirit and camels back. Please call me. 858-243–1228 for more horrible info
