I was trying to download a version of Trend Micro antivirus software onto a new computer. It was a version I already owned a license to. I attempted to go online with Trend Micro and get the download. Somehow I was directed to a site that appeared to be the home site of trend micro, it was not. It is a site controlled by Sunrise PC support. During chat they told me they would help with the download. As soon as we started they began to show me screens that showed my Internet connections were corrupted by Malware and they need to stop the download and fix them. Soon they wanted $350 to fix my problems. I stupidly agreed. Hours later they were still dinking around on my computer. I became concerned and called Trend Micro by phone. They made it clear they do not subcontract to Sunrise PC support and I should shut down my computer and get them locked off. I did so. Sunrise PC called back 3 times insisting I owed them the $350. I told them I would put the charge in dispute with my credit card company. I have done so. I also got to the real Trend Micro support. They informed me that all the things Sunrise PC "said" they were doing were already included in my current agreement with Trend Micro and were already paid for. It took about 5 minutes to download the new version. I consider Sunrise PC to be running a scam of hijacking customers and overcharging them. I never got the promised product delivered by Sunrise.
