I was contacted by a supposed law firm stating that I had defaulted on a pay day loan in March 211 and that they wanted my lawyers information to serve papers for a warrent. I stated that I did not have an attorney and they stated that on the following Monday morning that they would have me served at my job and let my employer know about the situation as well. I was having charges pressed against me for 3 criminal violations. I asked what company they were speaking of they said cashadvance.com. I could not recall if I ever did a cash advance from them or not but it freaked me out. They stated that I had until 3pm their time (in which they were in California) if I wanted to settle this. I stated that it must have been an misunderstanding I did not intend to default on anything. They stated that if I faxed a letter stating all of that and send a pre-paid card number with the amount on it that same day prior to 3pm their time that this could be cleared up. I called the number several times and was able to get the same guy Nathan Rice to assist me through this process. I had to send a copy of my drivers license and the letter via fax and the card had to process. I did all of that and I was told that in 6 weeks I would receive in writing something clearing me of all charges. I never did and when I called the number again it was not in service. The number was 909-233-7338
