I received a call and was coerced into buying insurance with the assurance that if I ever cancelled, I would get a pro-rated refund.

I agreed to the terms on 5/10/2013 but due to a 90 day wait period, coverage did not actually being until around 8/10/2013.

After some thinking and reflecting, I decided this was not a good use of money and tried to cancel the policy. they then told me they could not accept phone cancellations (even though they could take phone orders?) so I had to write a short letter and fax information to them.

I gathered everything and submitted the fax on 8/26/2013. included in my submission was a request for my refund as my coverage was at most active for only 18 days.

At this point, I had already paid my initial down payment with 2 or 3 monthly payments of about $100. I know they got my fax submission because they promptly stopped charging my credit card the monthlies however I have no way of contacting them for my refund. they tell me I am not allows to speak to the department that handles those but to wait. It has now been 3 months (Sept, Oct and Nov) and no word and no refund.

If this isn't a scam, they are doing a great job of making themselves look like one. If need be, I can provide scans of all my documentation but there is no way that 18 days of service doesn't afford me at least a 90% refund of what I paid.
