I applied for loans online. I received an email from Joel Coen at Pine Valley Financial on October 17, 2013 stating I had been approved and to contact him. I did via telephone, he already had all my information, I did not provide anything. He stated I needed collateral. I do not have a co-signer or car title to offer. He sent a contract (which I have a copy of) that showed I would be fully approved for $5,000 loan if I made a payment of $790 which covered the first five payments on the account. I signed the contract, faxed it back on October 18, 2013. I sent $790 to Warren Hayes, Manhattan, NY (the private lender who financed my loan) the transfer fee was $66.00 on October 18, 2013. I would told the loan would be transferred to my checking account the next business day (Monday the 21st) along with a refund of $66. Monday I then received a phone call from Gary Howell, SR Manager who stated the underwriters reviewed my loan and due to my credit I would have to make another payment of $790 which would cover the first ten payments on my account. I was very hesitant and knew it was a scam at this point. However, he stated if I did not want the loan they would issue a refund from the first payment, I stupidly sent the second $790.00. The funds were suppose to be wired into my account today and I have not received them. A follow up call was conducted with Gary Howell after the wire transfer and he assured me funds would be released to my account today. He also assured me that the underwriters could not review my loan a third time and this was guaranteed. The contract I have is pre-signed by William J. Spencer, CEO. Before I signed and returned the contract I did Google the company, their website seemed real and there were no complaints online and they were listed in the yellow pages. Unfortunately now the BBB shows they are not licensed and have them rated as an F.

  • I also applied for a loan online, and Joel Coen 1-888-990-9437 x 319 from Pine Valley Financial said I can get a $5,000 loan with 3 payments paid rounded up to $475 Michael Bennet in NY with Western Union wire transfer fee $40 that will be refunded with the $5,000 next Business day. That was Thursday last week. This was suppose to be last Friday to receive the Funds. Since then I have written many emails, and have spoken to him everyday. He says his 'Accounting' department needs to call me, and hasn't still. He Apologized, and says He's Frustrated he'll call Accounting himself to process the Funds transfer. I have now asked for my Wire Transfer $ back to VOID my contract. So far NO LUCK!! Looks like Joel Coen has screwed me over for the 1st time ever. DISAPPOINTING!! Lost $515.

  • Chelsea, please make a report to your local police department, along with a compliant to your state attorney generals office & the FBI's Internet crime unit (IC3).
I have made reports to all the above, plus Wisconsin attorney general & the BBB. If I never see my money again I at least want these jerks prosecuted. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, these guys are good & very convincing! May I ask what state you live in?

  • I will do a report, and a complaint like you mentioned. I live in California, and I called Joel again this morning @ 1-888-990-9437 x 319. I told him I want to just VOID my Contract, and get back the Wire Transfer Funds. He said before we do all that, he has to check it what stage Accounting has processed the Loan. If they already did I CAN'T get my $ back, and he would call right back. 2 hours ago. I will keep calling, but I know that won't do anything. So I will do everything else I can to help others know this is a Scam.

  • I also received a call back today, after I forwarded Joel a copy of emails from agencies I have submitted claims to, along with an email from the State of Wisconsin which states they are not licensed to issue loans, anyways Gary Howell called and stated "the lender" has backed out on my loan, they are supposedly taking legal action against the lender to get my money back, if they can't the insurance policy will kick in on November 18th and I will receive a refund then. I still DONT BELIEVE IT! I think its more (Inappropriate Content Removed) to keep me from moving forward with legal action against them. Good luck girl! I hope word gets around the internet so they are shut down and cannot continue this scam.
