I totaled my car so State farm sent me to Hertz to rent a car until everything was settled. Hertz told me NOT to fill the gas tank up before I brought the rental back because the gas was covered under my insurance policy (a lie) THEN they charged me a fortune to refill the tank.

They also told me that i didn't need to hold on to my rental receipt when I turned it in so they took my receipt book. NOW I have no proof of how much the rental was inthe first place!!

Hertz ended up charging State Farm $345 and they charged my debit card $245 for a 16 day rental which was only supposed to cost $19.95 a day. I am 74 years old on a fixed income and since I only noticed the charge to my bank account 5 days after turning in the rental I now have multiple overdrafts on my account and will have to ask my son for financial help. HOW could a reputable car rental place like this do this to me??
