On 10/1/2012 I personally rented a one way car from Tampa, Fl. to Valdosta Airport using my prepaid Visa card. The vehicle was delivered undamaged and at the specified time of the contract. Hertz charged my card the $200.00 deposit, then credited my card 48 hours later. I was very pleased with the car and the service so I signed up for the Gold Member through Hertz.

On 10/12/2012, I again reserved a car for my return trip to Tampa. However, after being dropped off at the Airport in Valdosta to retrieve my rental car, Hertz informed me that they do not accept Prepaid Visa credit cards!

The manager at the facility was very sympathetic and even printed out my last transaction using the same Visa card. It prooved that they were clearly at fault but still denied the use of the card telling me that their system would not accept the card.

I told them my other cards were with my fianc'e in Tampa, and if needed, I would pay the deposit in cash. Again, not acceptable!

I told them I will give all information needed to use my other card.Again, not acceptable! They told me that my former rental transaction was entered manualy and thats why my card was accepted before and it was their employees fault that she went againt Hertz policy to accept that card. Just amazing!

Now im not only embarrased, but stranded at a small, non commercial airport, with my bags and miles from no where! I was helped by the staff and given a lift to a hotel at $50.00 per day.

Thank god there was a Greyhound Buss Station near the hotel! I purchased a $79.00 ticket, $15.00 cab fare, and took my 15 hour bus ride to Tampa!

The rental car would have cost me $54.00 plus $30.00 fuel and a three hour and thirty minute drive. I was so humiliated and lost valuable time, not to mention the $11.00 I prepaid through priceline for the full coverage insurance for the rental.

I even contacted the district manager at Hertz to approve my card and let me be on my way! He was not helpful at all! By the way, my first rental was from a Hertz Corporate store as well.

FURTHER IN THIS COMPLAINT FORM IT S REQUESTED THAT I DOWLOAD PROOF OF CLAIM. I DONT HAVE THAT MEANS ON MY SMALL LAPTOP BUT DO HAVE THE ACTUAL PREVIOUS CONTRACT AND THE PRINTOUT AS PROOF OF PREVIOUSLY USING THE SAME VISA CARD THAT CAN BE FAXED IF NEEDED. ALSO HAVE PROOF OF PURCHASE OF THE HOTEL AND BUS TICKET BUT PAID CASH FOR THE TAXI.
